My first renovation projects were around my family’s homes or investment properties when I was in my early teens. From painting vaulted ceilings, to trying my hand at bathroom tile, I didn’t shy away from a new skill or challenge. This trait has been one of my most consistent corners of my personality and stems from my constant curiosity which manifests in my love of learning basically anything, even if I had no prior interest or plans to weave it into my regular routine. I found trying many different things has helped me connect with so many different types of people, and from there I can expand my knowledge through learning from their expertise.

Throughout most of my life I worked in the hospitality industry - meeting and connecting with all sorts of people and providing a service while doing so has always brought me joy. I learned to listen and communicate, and work long hours sometimes under intense pressure where being prepared and precise and thinking quickly on my feet helped me excel no matter the setting.

I bought a patch of land with a group of friends in 2018 which started my more intentional journey of picking up the skills a home-owner and do-it-yourselfer could justify. With every new project we leaned From pruning fruit trees and clearing trails, to trenching for utilities and designing my dream kitchen, I’ve had the opportunity to get my hands dirty on a huge range of projects.
